Who

I spend my days marketing for businesses, yet it has taken me years to create enough space in my life to grow my hobby into a teeny tiny business. I credit that to my hustle - my job(s) and side hustle(s) that have kept my time limited and my feet always moving. I call it my full-throttle.

I have learned to love a slower routine and spend more time recharging my batteries and filling my days with the things that bring me joy.

quick and dirty

I am a loyal friend, a crazy sister, a dog-lover, a news junkie, a book-lover, a podcast listener, a friendly neighbor, a baker of sweets, a lover of soup, a camp counselor, a nature wanderer, a nursing home visitor, a kayaker, a sunset and sunrise observer, a dog-sitter, a yogi, a sun-soaker, a sage-burner, a wine + chocolate lover and an IPA drinker who loves big.

What

I create functional pottery pieces that will bring joy to your daily life. We fill our lives and our homes with pieces that we fall in love with, that make us smile and fill our hearts with joy. Finding that perfect plant to put in a handmade pot for your office window, or a bud vase you constantly put a few fresh cut flowers in. Grabbing a utensil from a wheel thrown utensil holder with a glaze combination you couldn’t live without as your cooking dinner for your friends. Grabbing a deep cereal bowl for breakfast, or your favorite twisted handled mug to pour your first cup of caffeine into. These moments might seem mundane, but they can be beautiful if you stop and appreciate them.

Finding beauty in imperfections

I don’t stop creating when there’s an air bubble in the clay, or when the rim is to thin. I move forward working with the imperfection to make it unique. I keep the integrity and functionality of the piece, but leave the wonky bits and often carve in more texture and pattern to create something for glaze to ripple over.

One of a kind

I am still learning and growing on my wheel. Which means that even when I try to re-create the same shape, or the same item, every piece is truly one of a kind. I love that no two bowls in my cabinets are the same size, weight or shape. That a glaze combination can create a different pieces part of a matching set. I want you to have something that no one else has, something unique that sparks joy when you see it.

How

I stumbled into pottery when I needed just one more class for my last semester of undergrad. I was told I had taken “too many” journalism classes and was in a time-sensitive search of a class that I wouldn’t skip. From the first class, I knew I had found my creative outlet and couldn’t wait to spend time in the studio learning from trial and error.

Multiple studios

I have taken hand-building and wheel classes from a local studio since moving home after graduation. My teachers have been my most loyal pottery friends, who I see every Wednesday night. In clay (+ life) they have helped me embrace the mess, find the beauty in imperfections and have been witness to A LOT of trial and error.

After my most recent move, I was able to create the home-studio of my dreams. Tons of natural light and a back door that stays open on warm days. Often, I track clay dust footprints through the kitchen and you can find dried clay on a few doorknobs.

Why

Support the makers. Yes, handmade items are a little more pricey than what you can find at a big retailer. But supporting local, small businesses goes to support your makers, the movers and shakers that hustle to fuel their passion and pay their rent. The money is paying for more creation, more creativity, more small businesses to grow. It’s a makers movement, and I encourage all to support the creatives. When you pay for that piece, it’s not about finding the best deal - it’s about appreciating the weeks of work that went into that one piece. You’re paying for the creative expertise that comes from hours of practice, a creative eye that comes from trial + error & a spark that ignites something special; that creates something one-of-a-kind.
